Requin Chagrin
Requin Chagrin is the acclaimed bedroom pop project of French songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Marion Brunetto. On her fourth album, Décollage, she embraces a bold new chapter, expanding her signature reverb-soaked guitars and garage-pop roots with shimmering synths, drum machines and a brighter new wave-inspired sound—without losing the intimate spirit that has defined Requin Chagrin from the beginning.
Seeking creative renewal, Brunetto left Paris behind and retreated to her childhood bedroom in Ramatuelle, transforming it into a temporary studio filled with guitars, synthesizers, basses, drums and vintage recording equipment. There, she wrote, recorded, scrapped and rebuilt songs until instinct finally took over, allowing the music to emerge naturally.
Entirely self-written, performed and produced by Brunetto, Décollage reflects her singular artistic vision. Working alongside co-producer and mixing engineer Antoine Poyeton, with mastering by Simon Lancelot, she plays virtually every instrument on the record, ensuring a rare level of artistic cohesion. Throughout the process, she also found support from Nicola Sirkis (Indochine), whose encouragement helped reinforce her creative confidence.
The result is Requin Chagrin’s most expansive and uplifting album to date: a luminous blend of dreamy guitars, analogue synths, live drums and drum machines that captures both the restless energy of youth and the freedom of artistic reinvention. These new songs take on an even greater dimension live, where Brunetto and her band push the sound further with an electrifying stage performance.
