It feels like the world is in need of some good news right now, and here is some of the best-
Brakes, the Brighton 4 piece Super Party Rock Uber Band formed in 2002, are getting back together for a brief two week appearance in Late August/Early September 2026 to support the re-release of their debut album Give Blood on Rough Trade Records and the release of a found recording of Brakes live in 2010. They will be playing at Krankenhouse fesitval, then Manchester August 31st, Bristol Sept 1st, London Lexington Sep 2nd, Brighton Sept 3rd then at The End Of The Road festival.

Brakes have not played together for 11 years and are very excited to get back together. Eamon got divorced and made it a priority to see his 3 kids every week for the next 10 years, whilst working at a beautiful historic resort called Mohonk Mountain House. In early 2026, Brakes got an offer to play the End Of The Road festival for its 20th anniversary. Eamon spoke to his brother Ross, who convinced him that he should do it- Mani had just passed and "The Stone Roses won't ever have their original line up again," he said. "Just say yes you dickhead." Eamon then asked his kids and they all convinced him to get the band back together. His workplace gave him two weeks off, and everything was set.

Alex White, Brakes' drummer, had found a live recording from a Brakes show at Southpaw in New York City. "This is the best live album by any band ever," he announced on the band's Whattsapp group chat. Eamon sent it to Geoff Travis to see if he liked it, and a week later Rough Trade replied that they would love to release it alongside a re-release of Brakes' debut album Give Blood (release dates TBC.)
