THE WAKE
The Wake were formed in Glasgow in 1981 by guitarist/songwriter Ceasar, formerly of Altered Images. Their early line-up included Bobby Gillespie on bass. They released two albums and several singles on Factory Records, playing several shows with New Order, before moving to Sarah label for two further albums between 1989 and 1994. Caesar and Carolyn Allen went on to record as The Occasional Keepers, collaborating with Bobby Wratten of The Field Mice/Trembling Blue Stars on two albums. In autumn 2009, The Wake (Caesar and Carolyn) came together once again to record a new album, set for release in early 2010.

HORSE SHOES Horse Shoes are Drew Diver and Jacob Graham (who also plays in little known indie act The Drums), two musicians who found one another some years ago while playing in various bands around rural north/east, Ohio. Obsessive fans of classic Sarah Records (The Field Mice, The Hit Parade) and current Swedish pop (The Embassy, Air France, The Legends), they've played concerts in Stockholm and New York City, and released records on the excellent Shelflife label.

WHITE TOWN
A rare London show for one-man-band extraordinaire Jyoti Mishra, AKA White Town, who's best known for his 1997 Number One hit, "Your Woman", recently covered by Wylie. Expect a mixture of wonderful acoustic and electronic indiepop songs that have charmed and delighted audiences, in Sweden particularly, in the last few years. In Jyoti's own words, "my songs are all intensely personal, all autobiographical so every gig is something of a confessional."
