London punks Comanechi, release their brand new single ā€˜Major Move’ on July 2nd on Fast Weapons, the single is taken from the band’s new album due for release in the autumn.

Comanechi are an ear splittingly loud punk rock band formed in Hackney by Akiko Matsuura (The Big Pink, PRE) and Simon Petrovitch. Following the release of their debut album Crime of Love in December 2009 (9/10 NME, 8/10 Loud & Quiet, ā€˜record of the week’ in Rough Trade) the band embarked on a world tour, including support slots with The Drums, Dum Dum Girls and Gossip.

ā€˜Major Move’ will be released on 7ā€, featuring a vinyl silk screen printed cover, and available to download. The b-side features a cover of The Crystals ā€˜He Hit Me (And It Felt Like A Kiss), a classic Comanechi punk version, recorded in one take. The video for ā€˜Major Move’ was directed by Ollie Evans (Klaxons, Gossip, Tom Vek).

Live, the band now operate as 3 piece after introducing a live drummer, Akiko getting out from behind the drums to focus on singing and playing guitar.
